The Rugby Football Union has
launched a new online resource to make the game's rules and regulations more
easily accessible to all.
The website www.rfu.com/regulations
is now live and is the definitive central resource for rugby's rules and
regulations in England.
As well as a new design, improved
functionality such as the glossary tool allows users to find out more about any
terms that aren’t clear. The site also aims to give a comprehensive view of
regulaions through context-related downloads and links to further information.
Andrew Rogers, the RFU
Regulations Manager, said: "As the governing body for rugby union in England we
are responsible for providing an efficient regulatory service,"
"The creation of this
'one-stop shop' covering the full regulatory spectrum from grassroots to the
elite game gives clear, consistent and reliable communication to all involved in
the game.
"The aim is to allow
people to gain a greater understanding and ultimately maintain Rugby Union
Football as a sport of high integrity.”
Kate
Saunders, the RFU Digital
Media Manager said: "It’s exciting to be able to offer an easy to access version
of rugby union rules and regulations for our online audiences.
"Anyone with an
interest in rugby can easily search or browse to find particular regulations
quickly and simply. We are hopeful that this will become a central resource to
players, clubs and followers of rugby thoughout England.
